Bio:
Ellis Bahl is a screenwriter who most recently wrote the LaKeith Stanfield swamp-thriller Wild Palms with David Helman attached to direct. Ellis first reached prominence writing, directing, and editing the UKMVA winning music video for Alt-J’s Breezeblocks and garnering a Gold Clio and D&AD Next Director Award for commercial direction.
After a decade in the director’s chair, Ellis found new focus bringing fellow directors’ visions to life on the page. He wrote the screenplays for American Zoetrope director Ryan Hope’s crime epic Honor Farm and Jeff Desom’s 1980’s East-German psychological horror thriller Es Sieht Dich. He also wrote the comedy thriller Of All The Games which was a winner / finalist in twelve screenplay competitions and sits in the top 4% of all projects on Coverfly.
He spends much of his spare time studying the history of religion and esotericism or attempting to cook recipes that far outmatch his ability, time constraints, and presently stocked ingredients. He also plays in a weekly Dungeons and Dragons game in which he very seriously pretends to be a magical frog.
